William Darrell Hensley, Sr., 81, of Columbus died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Columbus. He was born January 2, 1936 in Indianapolis to William Harold Hensley and Ferrol Louise Hauser Hensley. William was retired from Cummins Engine.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hamilton Hensley of Columbus; two daughters, Susan (Shorty) Napier of Austin, IN and Ruth Ann (Phil) Wilson of Missouri; two sons, William (Anita) Darrell Hensley, Jr. and Robert (Cris) Hensley both of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren (with 1more on the way). William Darrell Hensley, Sr., 81, of Columbus died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Columbus. He was born January 2, 1936 in Indianapolis to William Harold Hensley and Ferrol Louise Hauser Hensley. William was retired from Cummins Engine.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hamilton Hensley of Columbus; two daughters, Susan (Shorty) Napier of Austin, IN and Ruth Ann (Phil) Wilson of Missouri; two sons, William (Anita) Darrell Hensley, Jr. and Robert (Cris) Hensley both of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren (with 1more on the way). He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vivian Hensley; a son, Tommy Hensley; a daughter, Rose Marie Hensley; and a granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Hensley.

William served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War; he had been in the Mason Lodge in Columbus and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 3:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Baldwin officiating, burial will follow in Brown County Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to services on Monday from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
