Stephen Thomas Fittz, 79, of Nashville IN passed away at Brown County Health and Living. He was born September 25, 1937 in Indianapolis IN, the son of the late Grace (Jenner) Fittz and Thomas Fittz.

Steve graduated from Howe High School in Indianapolis. Attended Purdue and IU and graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor of Science degree. Steve retired from General Motors and Electronic Data Systems as a systems analyst after 32 years.

He served in the Air Force Reserves for 6 years and was activated during the Berlin Crisis.

Steve loved his Brown County and was an active member in Brown County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Friends of T C Steele, and St David's Episcopal Church serving on the vestry and singing in the choir.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra (Bell) Fittz; his sons Michael Fittz of Nashville IN, David Fittz of New Carlisle, OH Joseph Fittz of Columbus OH; his sister Barbara and her husband Larry Carden of Sewanee TN, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Pace, daughter in law, Therese Fittz, and grandson, Joshua Fittz.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at St David's Episcopal Church on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
